1. I will tell you the good and bad about my first relationship. I will not sugar coat it. I will tell you because I don't want you to make the same mistake I did.
2. When my co-worker's daughter (or an online friend) is selling Girl Scout cookies, I'll buy your favorite kind and send them to you at school or to your house. If you live nearby, I'll save them for you or put them in your mailbox with a note.
3. If you send me a link to an item of jewelry, coat, book, or fun movie or mp3 download, I'll make a mental note. And then surprise you.
4. When you reach that point, where you need to spread your wings and test your independence (because I know you will) I'll let you have your space. Knowing that I want to raise you to be the type that comes to me as not only your mother, but as your friend.
5. I will teach you early about saving, not getting in to debt to get something now. Being a good stewart of your money will get you far.
6. Student loans are the last resort.
